Holland Home wanted to attract more singles to help fill their available one-bedroom independent living residences. And the one thing this world needs more of is spokespeople. BAM! Two problems, one solution.

Sadly, Miss Independent Living remains a figment of my imagination. Don’t worry, she is well-fed and cared for.

Drop the “the”

Nothing kills the buzz more when you’re trying to dispel stereotypes of senior living, and everyone keeps referring to Holland Home as THE Holland Home.

Let’s be honest: no one wants to go to “The Home,” no matter which European country you throw in the middle.

To combat this travesty, I suggested a stunt campaign where we announce that Holland Home is dropping the “the” and changing its name to Holland Home.

Did it work? We’ll never know.
